I thought it was only appropriate to kick off my upstate New York review with one of the more magical places we stayed. Before I do, I wanted to let you know I will be giving all the details of how many nights we stayed where, where we toured, and what led us to head upstate to begin with in my overall Hudson Valley, New York review!
Now back to Hasbrouck House, pronounced Has-brock House. I struggled with that a little. If ever there was an Inn from a story book Hasbrouck House is just that. It was part Hogwarts, part something from a Christmas card. The simplistic charm, and chic romance of the property exuded from every corner. I could go on, and on, about our night stay here, but I definitely want to hit the high points.
First, and most importantly, their customer service was so wonderful. Their staff was kind, and helpful. They made sure we felt welcome, and went above and beyond to help us with a few special requests.
Upon arrival, walking through an antique red door to be greeted with smiles, and a simple check in process. Even their real turn key, with large leather key chains were adorable. And of course, even the wallpaper behind the front desk had keys on it. ha! Attention to detail on point!
We then ate a delicious meal at the in house restaurant, Butterfield. We sat in a cozy tufted corner booth adjacent to a candle lit fire. We chose the “prix fixe” meal, and at $35 is also an amazing deal. I have included the details below. It included an app, entree, and dessert. I would recommend the scallops special if available, and the doughnuts for dessert. Holy Cow! Probably the best thing I ate our whole trip. Our sever was lovely, and when we asked about the amazing smelling hotel candle from the front desk, she brought us one back to the table to enjoy in our room. I was honestly floored by this gesture, simple yet so thoughtful.
Menu:
After we unloaded in the room, and watched a few movies before bed. Our suite was complete with a chandelier over our bed, a giant bathtub, and Kiehls products in the bathroom. Hasbrouck House has three houses on property including rooms, lofts and suites. We stayed in the Stable House Grand Loft (room 17), which we were told was the best on property… and I can see why! In the late 1700’s it was the actual stable. I didn’t see any ghost horses, but it was really cool to see some of the original details in the stables non the less. The Hasbrouck House describes this room as, “The Grand Loft is on the 2nd floor of the Stable House. It boasts a large open space with a walk in closet, kitchenette with mini-fridge, large bathroom with soaking tub, king size bed. This suite also includes a separate private bedroom with a queen size bed.”
In the morning we wanted to enjoy a little quiet time in the library. Little did we know we were going to be greeted with cake doughnute, coffee, and cider. What a treat! Then their sweet staff came to light the fire for us while we played a few board games and enjoyed their picturesque space.
To say we were sad to leave was an understatement. So much so, that we spent several extra hours on property that day, and all purchased the house candles to take home with us!
Ive linked all my outfit details above and below!
