My girl Reese Witherspoon, and her team at Draper James are at it again. When asked if I would style one of their dresses, and share some of my favorite Easter memories in the South; I jumped at the chance to participate. Even better my sweet friend Laura of Walking in Memphis in High Heels came on board to add to the fun! Hop over to Draper James blog to read why I love Easter in the South so much and what some of mine and Laura’s family traditions are!! Ive linked it here and in the pic below!
Draper James is known for their classic Southern flair, and beautiful prints… so obviously they are a great go to for your special Easter dress this year. I chose the Greenhill Blossom Jacquard Dress because it reminded me of Kate Middleton (who I think can do no wrong in the fashion department) and because green is one of my favorite colors. Im not going to lie I have a hard time finding clothes that fit well because I have a smaller waist and a bigger butt. I usually have to get everything tailored, but this dress fit like a dream. No alterations necessary at all! I love the simple green satin detail in the middle. It breaks up the pattern, and draws attention to the smallest part of your waist. I also loved the light tulip detail on the bottom. Being that I am on the short end of the spectrum at 5’3″ (on a good day) that slight slit in the middle of the thigh did wonders to make my legs look longer. BONUS it has pockets. I can’t tell you how much I love pockets… ha!
I chose to style it with a neutral color shoe because the color and pattern are the focus of the outfit. However because Easter is a special day I went with a shoe with a little bit of a funky twist with the large bows to add some pizzaz. My earrings are Lisi Lerch, (love her!) linked here, and are a great size for a day to night look. I went with a coral color to keep it springy, but to introduce a new pop of color. I think a dark green would be good as well. I’ve linked an option for those below as well. I tied in the neutral shoes with my purse. I kept my hair and make up simple as well. I think sometimes when you have a bold pattern if you go with sleeker hair and make up you can get away with more. I linked my favorite hot rollers that give me just the right amount of volume, and bend, and my new nude lip option that is also good for your lips!
Happy Easter!
