We made it to the mountains, and I’m finally getting a glimpse of snow! It was a beautiful day here filled with sunshine. I actually didn’t even need a coat for most of it. Crazy, because this time of year its usually around 15 degrees.
The trick to mountain style is many layering options. I like to make sure I can mix and match all the pieces I bring. It makes it easy when you can add a sweater, or scarf, over a base layer to take an outfit go from day to night.
With so much snow on the ground its not practical to bring those fancy boots. Keep it simple, and make sure your feet will be safe from the weather, and your shoes will be able to make it through slosh, snow, and water. I try to pack boots that are somewhat versatile and water resistant. Typically, I end up pulling out snow boots anyway.
My favorite base layer at the moment is this thermal. It comes in a zillion colors, and is crazy comfortable. It runs a little big so I would size down. I got this one last year and loved it so much, I just ordered moss and sand!
